In 2020, I was contacted by the bid team to assist in creating the Word template, graphics, and covers for the Wellington Airport Express tender documents. The key objective was to produce materials that adhered to strict government guidelines while also aligning with Transdev’s brand guidelines. Additionally, the documents needed to pay homage to the local operator, Mana Newlands, a well-respected and beloved business within the community.

Collaborating closely with the bid team, I developed a style guide and templates that heavily drew inspiration from the Mana Newlands logo and color scheme. The decision was made to focus on spotlighting the local operator over Transdev, recognizing the importance of the operator’s positive reputation with both the local government and the community.

The final documents balanced government requirements, brand consistency, and local relevance, helping to create a compelling tender submission. This bid was successful, becoming the only winning bid that year, underscoring the effectiveness of the design approach and the strategic emphasis on the local operator. The project was a rewarding example of how thoughtful design can contribute to business success and community relations.
